What Children Practice
Every passport session builds real early-learning skills, and each one maps onto standards your program already teaches to.

Describing Words
Naming and writing food words, adjectives for taste and texture, answering open questions in turn.
Supports early literacy (Common Core ELA):
- L.K.5
- L.1.5
- SL.K.4

Sensory Science
Observing before concluding, comparing color, shape, and smell, recording what they noticed.
Supports NGSS K-2 science practices:
- Observing
- Classifying
- Describing

Choice and Voice
Deciding for themselves, naming a preference politely, sitting with something unfamiliar.
Supports CASEL competencies:
- Self-awareness
- Self-management
- Responsible decision-making

Food Awareness
Meeting whole foods by name, where food grows and its colors, curiosity in place of refusal.
Supports CA Health Education Standards (K-2):
- Nutrition Essential Concepts
- Health-enhancing behaviors
For preschool and TK programs, sessions also support the CA Preschool/Transitional Kindergarten Learning Foundations (Health, Science, and Language and Literacy) and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF) domains.
The program supports these standards. A full activity-by-activity crosswalk is available on request.
What’s in the Classroom Pack
A Passport for Every Child
Each child fills in their own booklet.
Sticker Sheets
Opinion, texture and visa stickers for every session.
Teacher Guide
How to run a passport session with a group.
Certificate
For every child who completes their passport.
Why It Works at School
Children watch each other closely. When one friend sniffs a pea or licks a pepper slice, the rest of the table wants a turn.
A food that gets refused at home from a parent gets tried at school between friends.
How One Session Runs
Short enough to fit inside lunch or snack time. Children open their lunchboxes, explore each food, and place their stickers together.

Who Provides the Food?
Families provide the food. You never have to.
It works like a lunchbox. Each family packs the foods for Passport Day and sends them in with their child. Schools and programs do not purchase, prepare or serve food as part of the activity. Families choose the food and are responsible for allergies, dietary needs and safe preparation. Schools and educators follow their own allergy, wellness and parent communication policies, and adults supervise the activity.
Classroom and bulk orders are final sale unless damaged, defective or incorrect, or otherwise agreed in writing. Please report issues within 5 days of delivery. Large orders may need extra processing time; we’ll share an estimated ship date when you order. Returns · Terms of Service
